The inspiration for A R Masale is the super-cool and optimistic couple – Anjani & Ramakant Patil from Kankavli.
If you are ever one of the fortunate ones to eat the food made from Anjani Aaji’s own hands, you will instantly know that it is yummy, healthy and uncompromized. If you try to peep into the kitchen, you will observe that she and has nicely arranged all ingredients and masalas into shelves. And she is so generous about serving it that you have to sit down for a complete meal until you feel completely full. And if that doesn’t make you full (it always will), Aajoba will cut some fresh mangoes and other fruits and insist you have atleast 2!
A R Masale is family-business run by the daughters & son of Anjani & Ramakant Patil – Sangita Prabhu, Sayali Pandit and Bhushan Patil.

Ramakant Patil
Its 6 in the morning at Kankavli. Amid the freshness of the trees, you hear birds chirping and some light melodies to some pleasing traditional songs. The architect for this environment is none other than our Aajoba – Ramakant Patil.
He loves gardening! He is super-proud of his backyard and garden which he cultivates, preserves and paints on his own. Every time you go to Kankavli, you’ll see something new there.
In his childhood days, he used to help his father to run a grocery shop. We’d hear funny incidents and also some learning from him. I guess we learnt the art of business from him. He always wanted to open a Malvani food store!
We knew that AR Masale didn’t have to be an utterly traditional store because of the modern Aajoba that he is. He’s somehow managed to pick the best parts of modern thinking with the strength of old values. And that’s what the store is also about.

The Aaji with a heart of gold! And of course we are biased because we are her grandkids who made this website. But ask anyone in Kankavli about Patil Aaji from Gango Mandir! You’ll hear the same from them!
